Education of the gifted and talented students for leadership development is the goal of Jnana Prabodhini Prashala. Leadership development depends on intelligence as well as personality traits such as originality, vitality and vision. It is assumed that these traits can be developed in students of superior intelligence .The program at school is aimed at physical development, cognitive development, emotional development and spiritual development. The school is affiliated to Central Board Of Secondary Education, Delhi. In JP, the aims of education have a spiritual basis and so the procedures to put philosophy into practice include both objective procedures, which include educational technology, and subjective procedures. Educational program in the school contain activities in the curricular and the extracurricular areas have more and more emphasis on learning thinking processes, over memorizing of subject content. These activities are related to the social aspect of the aim of motivation building and the preliminary habit formulation step in the aim of attitude formation.
Leadership Development is the first and foremost objective of Jnana Prabodhini. Reorientation of adolescent education for developing social commitment, competence, ideological motivation and ability for effective teamwork in the students is the means for achieving this objective. Individual games, team games, camps, organized group work, study tours and participation in public awareness campaigns inculcate and develop the leadership competence in the boys and girls. Volunteers and school students are encouraged to rush to earthquake or flood affected areas and provide a healing touch to the victims. Sensitivity to social problems is promoted through participation in community festivals and rural development activities. Motivation building through lectures in topics of national integration, workshops on planning skills and group discussion skills are also planned. Education means experiencing the problems of development, business, industry, research, social conflict resolution and national integration, and of keeping the cultural life of the society vibrant and flowing. Rural Development
Rural Development has always grown equally well along with education at Prabodhini. Each urban center of Prabodhini has associated itself with some adjoining rural area. In case of Pune city, the adjoing Shivaganga and Gunjawani river valleys are selected. Introducing new agricultural practices, construction of bunds culverts, approach roads and deepening of wells were the initial activities undertaken between 1965 to 1980. These have now been integrated into a watershed development programme. Organizing youth groups and women’s savings and credit groups and organizing villagers for water resource management are the current important activities in the area. Installations of bio-gas plants and hand pumps now number into thousands. A Rural Talent Development programme for 500 students acts as a leadership development exercise for rural students.
A Comprehensive Basic Health Programme is being implemented in 35 villages. Training for employment and entrepreneurship development are the main areas of concern from inception. A well equipped engineering workshop at Shivapur has so far trained 1200 youths in the valley. An Agro-Technical Training Institute and Appropriate Technology Research & Extension Center at Shivapur are playing a major role in technology interventions in the two valleys. Initiative of the beneficiaries and supports from the local bodies are important features in Prabodhini’s rural development activities.
The governance of a nation is chiefly bureaucracy job. If and only if such administrative officers are ably working, a nation can evolve completely. So there is an eternal need for training of administrators who give a public face to administration. In order to serve the need, JPCEC has invoked its own programme for the students appearing for competitive exams and regularly attending classes. In order to develop special skills, Current Events study circles, group discussions, seminars, practice tests, individual counseling and such many innovative programmes are regularly undertaken by JPCEC. Personality is a vital character of a administrative officer and so Personality tests are conducted to guide students accordingly. Meditation and yoga are practiced essentially regularly in order to provide spiritual dimension to the personality. JP officials, politicians, judicial officers, journalists and workers from leading NGOs are influential in making of administrative officers. Understanding such need, JPCEC has created and maintained a vast network of such illuminated personalities from various fields of life in nation. It is the main intention of JPCEC to provide clean and impeccable officers. Thus such all aspects of JPCEC come together to serve the motto ‘Nurturing Intelligence for Social Change’ and help JPCEC become one of the best comparshyetitive examinations center in Maharashtra and also in India.
Round about 415 MPSC student-officer of the center are working all over Maharashtra and 75 UPSC student -officers are working in 26 different states of India and also in Caina, Spain and Germany
